Well, I’m sure that no one can deny the name of this famous Indonesian writer. Personally, I can only say that I don’t notice his works much, or too much. I just know him for his works, but I never read his works. So pathetic, right? And yet, this is the first time I read his work, and that was just because a coincidence.

Blakanis is the new book of Arswenso Atmowiloto, as I could clearly see in the book’s information. Well, why was I then interested in reading Atmowiloto’s book after years of his writing career?? The answer is that I read the brief synopsis and that triggered my curiosity. It’s because the book talks about honesty, something that always interests me and pulls my human awareness.

The novel actually talks about an old man called Blaka, who always talks and acts honestly, even for the most shameful thing about him. He does not hesitate to tell anyone about anything of him. He also wants people to do the same, talking and acting honestly. He also wants to convey that the honesty should come from your own heart. You can’t be honest because something or someone, you have to be truly honest because you are sincere in doing it, you want it, and you do it for good.

This book is really interesting. Atmowiloto definitely wants to deliver a very important message for people today who have been drawn up in the hectic life of lie, cheating, corruption, immoral, and egoistic. And that message can be fine obviously in this book. Everyone has to read this incredible book.
